Sandals are the essential footwear for as soon as the sun starts shining. While some are lavishly decorated with jewels, glitter, shells or pearls, others go for a more natural look, with flesh-coloured or vegetable-dyed models, or a hint of vintage with gingham motifs, raffia or ribbons.

The same variety of styles is also available for flat ballerina shoes: while some remain simple, others are decorated with a touch of fluo, plexiglass or mirror leather.

Another must-have for the summer is the deliciously retro espadrille, which has been redesigned in a range of heel heights with a new defined heel for a fabulous effect.

In complete contrast to this summery lightness, the boot is still going strong after winter with 80s-inspired cowgirl, biker, rock‘n’roll or studded-riveted versions. The major brands are producing ranges of ankle and short boots, with a particular penchant for open-toed styles which all fashionistas were already wearing last year."
